He Run Dong (born September 13, 1975) was born in the United States to parents of Hong Kong descent and grew up in Taiwan. He entered the Ontario College of Art and Design ranking third before stepping into the entertainment industry by chance during the summer of his second year in college. He is well known to mainland Chinese audiences for his role as Mao Jie in the TV series 'Yu Guan Yin.' He wears multiple hats as a model, actor, singer, and producer, and has won numerous awards such as Most Popular Actor, Most Influential Actor, and Best Crossover Artist. His notable works include 'Storm Warriors,' 'Yu Guan Yin,' 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,' 'The Young Warriors,' 'Butterfly Lovers,' and 'Summer's Desire.' The TV series 'Summer's Desire,' which he produced and starred in, was also successful.
