He portrayed Xue Ba in the 1998 version of 'Water Margin,' played the main antagonist Fang Ye in 'Ling Spirit,' portrayed scientist Sun Sikong in 'Very Pure and Ambiguous,' and appeared as a minister in the movie 'The Great Wall' directed by Zhang Yimou. He passed away on August 16, 2018, at the age of 59.
