Liu Shuchen is a theatre and film actor and director. She graduated from the directing department of Shanghai Theatre Academy as an undergraduate, and later joined the Shanghai Drama Art Center as an actor and director. Some of her representative works in film and television include "Cao Laoban's Eighteen Secretaries", "No Morning, No Night", "Fog City", and the film "Love in Dangerous City". In 2009, she started independently directing plays. With her sharp perspective on young women and unique ability to perceive drama, she completed her directorial debut, a play adapted from Su Tong's novel "Women's Lives". In 2013, she directed the classic play "No Exit" by French existentialist master Sartre, showcasing her directorial style characterized by strong humanistic sentiments and elements of academicism.
