Tang Wei was born in Zhejiang and moved to Hangzhou with her parents during elementary school. She graduated from the undergraduate directing department of the Central Academy of Drama. Her acting experience includes TV movie "Police Woman Swallow", through which she shared the Excellent Actress Award at the movie channel's digital film lily awards with Tao Hong. She also appeared in the epic drama "Che Guevara" at the National Theatre. Ang Lee directed "Lust, Caution," and after thousands of screenings for the female lead, Tang Wei was finally confirmed. As a result, she went from obscurity to the public eye. Due to various reasons, Tang Wei studied abroad and temporarily left the film industry. In 2010, her film "Late Autumn" was released and Tang Wei returned to the big screen. In addition, she also starred in works such as "Late Autumn" and "Finding Mr. Right in Beijing".
