Liu Yun, a native of Changsha, Hunan, started learning artistic gymnastics and dance at a young age. She later enrolled in the Central Academy of Drama and officially entered the entertainment industry by starring as 'Shen Xier' in her debut TV drama 'Three Doors' in 2001. In April 2004, she portrayed the resilient and lovely character 'Qiu Chan' in the TV series 'Emperor of Han 2'. In August 2007, she graced the cover of the August issue of 'Time Weekly', and in May 2008, she played the role of 'Mu Jianping', the young lady of the Mu Palace, in the costume martial arts drama 'The Duke of Mount Deer'. She has since appeared in numerous film and TV works such as 'The Beauty', 'Shang Yang Fu', 'Jin Xin Si Yu', and 'Illuminating China with Ideals'.
