Born on June 25, 1977, in Changsha, Hunan, Zuo Xiaoqing has a pure and elegant appearance with a cheerful personality. She was a former athlete and won several national Artistic Gymnastics Championships. In 1993, after retiring from sports, she coincidentally appeared in Jiang Wen's film 'In the Heat of the Sun', playing the role of Zhang Xiaomei, a girl with a slightly pigeon-toed gait.
