Qin Yan, born in 1954, Beijing native, is a mainland Chinese male actor. At the age of 15 (after graduating from junior high school), he was assigned to work as a worker at the Beijing Electronics Tube Factory by his school. After 1976, he gradually became obsessed with performing and participated in various performances in the factory propaganda team. In 1977, he performed in amateur drama groups at Chaoyang District and Xicheng District Workers' Clubs. In 1979, he was admitted to the Beijing Cultural Group as a professional drama actor, performing in many plays. In 1984, the group was reorganized into the Beijing Children's Art Theater. Towards the end of 1984, Qin Yan was transferred to the China Railway Cultural Group Drama Group as an actor. In 1991, he starred in his first TV series "Editorial Department Story" as Mo Huaiyuan after his debut, gradually entering the film and television industry. He won the 2nd China Drama Revival Award in 1991 and the 5th China Drama Golden Lion Award for Best Actor in 2006.
